The Nevada Operations team is responsible for managing and facilitating the day-to-day operations of Burning Man Project in Gerlach, Nevada. The team consists of approximately 60 year-round staff members who oversee various departments such as Personnel, Gerlach Office, Gerlach Waste Stream, Speciality Construction, Ranch Crew, Solar, Saloon, Commissary, Maintenance, Mobile Maintenance, Housing, Gerlach Center, BRC Storage, and Auto Shop. We work towards creating a sustainable community in Northern Nevada by focusing on our off fossil fuel initiatives, program development, and asset expansion and improvement.

Date and time frame of role***

  • Remote 10 - 15 hrs per week October - July 
  • Local 15 - 25 hrs per week August - September

Nice-to-have talents ***

  • Workflow software knowledge including Airtable and Google Suite
  • Previously attended Burning Man and familiar with its culture 

 

List of potential tasks ***

  • Reaching out to new volunteers to usher through the onboarding and orientation process
  • Follow up with Volunteers while on site to be sure their needs are met
  • Assist with offboarding volunteers
